White Paper on SOA with Documentum D6

4 05 2009

From the Doquent blog: “Real-Life Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) with D6“, a highly readable 28 pages white paper.

D6 provides Documentum Foundation Services (DFS) for plugging Documentum into an SOA solution. Documentation and articles about D6 and SOA typically focus on DFS features. While they are essential for using Documentum in an SOA solution, they need another complementary capability for completing the SOA picture – orchestration of services for composing new services or applications. This article explores implementation of a real-life business scenario via an SOA solution including Documentum as a key component.

CMIS Development Community Launched by Alfresco

3 05 2009

Alfresco has recently launched (on a Joomla! platform, which is very strange coming from a WCM vendor) a community site around CMIS: CMIS Developer Resources.

Of course, reading the site you wouldn’t guess it’s sponsored by Alfresco, but it actually is, as the DNS record clearly says:

Registrant Name:Martin Lieskovsky
Registrant Organization:Alfresco Software Ltd.

Nuxeo 5.2: late again

3 05 2009

French copycats Nuxeo still can’t stick to their own deadlines.

Nuxeo 5.2, which was announced in March, is still not available for download, and the bug count doesn’t hint at a release anytime soon.
